Week Nine saw wins for both Aries and Las Panteras as the former’s tie with Jaguars for second place was broken and the latter extended their win streak to six games.
Las Panteras vs Dodgers
Diamond 2 saw League leaders Las Panteras host the Dodgers who were looking to end a streak of their own – dropping their last four games.
Despite getting off to a good first inning, where they shut the Dodgers out and scored five runs, Las Panteras were not to have it all their own way as the Dodgers fought back with big innings and a shutout of their own.
By the end of the fourth inning, the Dodgers had tied the game up and had won the last two innings by a 7-1 score.
The threat of an upset didn’t last, however, as Las Panteras scored 10 runs over the last three innings as the Dodgers could only score three runs in reply.

Jaguars vs Aries
Diamond One saw Jaguars host Aries – two teams that have been locked in a draw for second place in the league standings since week four (and saw them draw their first encounter in week six).
Aries got off to a quick start with their bats by scoring 12 runs in the first four innings whilst restricting Jaguars to a single run in the first and second innings and shutting them out in the third and fourth.
The last three innings were all about symmetry with both teams scoring three runs in the fifth inning, seven runs in the sixth and no runs in the seventh.
Both teams fought hard and there were some great displays of both fielding and home run hitting (the five scored in this match is the second-most in a single game this season) including Aries male MVP Danny Maskule putting not one but two balls into the trees in left field.
